Where is the National Enquirer? They busted the John Edwards case wide open I want them investigating this convoluted mess in Alaska and the Palin crew.

The person who dragged this young girl into a political firestorm is none other than her own mother.
This whole thing smells to high heaven, but even if you can believe the story as the Palins claim it, my question is this –
Why, in response to the internet rumors, would Ms. Palin “out” her daughter’s pregnancy to deflect attention? Why couldn’t Palin just prove that the infant is hers by trotting out the doctor who delivered the baby to vouch for her? Why not just release a copy of the birth records? Why not submit to a DNA test — anything, ANYTHING….. to protect her teenage daughter who is facing a very difficult time.
But no, she decides to cover herself by publicly revealing her unmarried, teenage daughter’s pregnancy instead — even though she kept her own alleged pregnancy a secret until she was 7 months along. It would have been very easy to keep the daughter’s pregnancy under wraps for the next two months by claiming “child of a candidate” privacy and removing her from the public eye. There were countless ways to squelch the internet rumors without involving the 17 year old child.
And one more point — if the daughter and the boyfriend have been planning all along to keep the baby and get married, then why weren’t they married as soon as she learned she was pregnant? Seems to me that’s the way most politically savvy fundies would have handled it — just have the kids get married as soon as the pregnancy test comes back positive. Then, at the VP selection event, they introduce the daughter and her husband and explain they are young and in love and having a baby.
This whole thing is so bizarre and who knows what the real truth is, but one thing is clear. Sarah Palin is a very selfish mother, and her children are to be pitied. Palin is not a bad mother because her teenage daughter got pregnant — she’s a bad mother because she didn’t do everything in her power to protect her own daughter. Instead, she threw her to the wolves in the media.
I have nothing but complete and utter disdain for this woman.
So why doesn't Obama bring out the doctor that delivered him to prove that he was born in Hawaii and not Kenya?
Because this sort of thing is ridiculous. But, but all means, keep banging this drum. America is watching. Hell, even MSNBC has decided that this rumor has no merit.
And, oh, yes, The Enquirer did in fact get on the Edwards story... a year after the rest of the media knew and decided to embargo it.
I admit that this is ridiculous but this is more about judgment. McCain’s judgment for choosing a running mate that has a house full of problems, not to mention troopergate. How in the world is she going to be able to focus on running the “free world”? Two this is also about a self professed family first values candidate; her behavior is not indicative of that belief. Her daughter is going to need her instead she throws her under the bus. (Now were have I heard that term before)
How is saying, "I fully support her decision and we will do everything we can to help her" throwing her under the bus?

Wild-ass rumor that Palin faked a pregnancy to shield teenage daughter from publicity: something that the press should pursue even though it is 99.9% likely to be false
Completely plausible (and true) rumor that Edwards was having an affair with a woman being paid off by his campaign and later paid off by his campaign coordinator: a vicious smear that should not even be mentioned, even after the Enquirer breaks the story.

Yep I would call that evidence of elitism. We are going to have different opinions regarding Obama’s pastor and that’s that. Some of the things he said were right out there in left field and it was a distraction.

Whether Palin faked the pregnancy or not is far not the issue for me. Family first value candidate is doing everything but putting her family first. No doctor in his right mind that believes in the Hippocratic oath is going to allow a woman in labor to board a plane and fly home especially if she is already a candidate for a high risk pregnancy.

I would just like to point out that the fake story (Palin taking her child's child and raising it as her own to save her daughter embarassment, etc.) is exactly the reason the real story had to come out.
The same people who were smearing her for that would have smeared her for concealing the current pregnancy.

Did you listen to the rest of the tape when she said she agrees with their ideals.
And I agree with Democrat ideals. If I were invited in my official capacity to introduce their campaign, I would be gracious enough to not point out how badly their ideals clashed with their policy.

The tabloid is already in Alaska and their team includes many of the same people who broke details of the Edwards/Hunter affair.
As I said on my blog, perhaps the NE can obtain the missing birth records that will put this matter to rest once and for all?
For some inexplicable reason, McCandy refuses to provide birth record to the media and Mat-Su Hospital's on-line birth registry has no entry for a "Trig Palin" on April 18, 2008.
Perhaps, the birth was an Immaculate Conception birth?
